Study of the productive capacity of the Pisa breed

, : Study of the productive capacity of the Pisa breed. Annali della Facolta di Medicina Veterinaria di Pisa 25: 27-44

In 26 males live weight at birth, 6, 12 and 18 mth averaged 48.2, 211.7, 374.9 and 556.8 kg resp. In 11 animals obtained at ages from 10 to 20 mth, live weight at slaughter averaged 450.7 kg, cold carcass weight 258.1 kg and dressing percentage 57.4. Weights of individual carcass cuts are tabulated. 68 cows were milk-recorded. In 1st lactations, av. milk yield ranged from 804 kg for 140- to 180-day lactations to 1927 kg for 241- to 300-day lactations.
