Study on the salt tolerance of rice and other crops in reclaimed soil areas. 13. On the absorption of the mineral elements of rice and the components of rice grains in reclaimed saline soils

, : Study on the salt tolerance of rice and other crops in reclaimed soil areas. 13. On the absorption of the mineral elements of rice and the components of rice grains in reclaimed saline soils. Korean Journal of Botany 14(1): 25-31

4 rice cultivars were grown on saline and non-saline silty loam soils at salt levels of 6.05 mmho/cm. In saline areas uptake of Na and Si was relatively high, whereas that of P, K and Ca was low. N was absorbed actively before grain emergence but then decreased. Paddy from saline areas contained high levels of sugar and low levels of protein, fat and fibre.
