The effect of X-rays on licorice root growth and development

, : The effect of X-rays on licorice root growth and development. Trudy Instituta Botaniki Akademii Nauk Kazakhskoi SSR 31: 79-85

Plants grown from seeds irradiated with X-rays at 10, 50 or 100 rad developed roots with a diameter of 1.2-1.5 cm at the collar, compared with 0.5 cm in the non-irradiated control. A 500-rad dose slightly inhibited root development.
