The effects of compost made from rice hulls on the growth of cucumbers in hot beds

, : The effects of compost made from rice hulls on the growth of cucumbers in hot beds. Journal of the Yamagata Agriculture and Forestry Society (29): 8-12

After heaping in the field for 3 years hulls were mixed with diluted manure containing N, P and K in the ratio 10:5:8. When seeds were sown in hot beds containing this compost, usual hot-ned soil, and river sand, germination rates were 90.7, 70.4 and 24.1%, respectively. At transplanting time 40 days later seedlings from the compost beds had the highest root number, stem length and leaf weight.
