The influence of Aspergillus fumigatus spores and polystyrene particles on the number of lung macrophages in rabbits

, : The influence of Aspergillus fumigatus spores and polystyrene particles on the number of lung macrophages in rabbits. Sabouraudia 12(1): 105-111

Rabbit lungs were injected intratracheally with either A. fumigatus spores or polystyrene particles. After 2 h and 24 h lung washings and macrophage counts were made. Two h after exposure there was no difference in number of macrophages in either group. However, 24 h after exposure there was an increased number of macrophages in the group exposed to polystyrene particles.
