A complex association of hydromicas, kaolinitic and chlorite minerals and mixed layered unordered chlorite-vermiculite formations occured in the clay fraction of five taiga soils. The soils also contained varying amounts of amorphous and crystalline forms of sesquioxides and finely dispersed quartz; the sesquioxides were concentrated in the clay fraction.
