The stratification of tropical forests in forest inventories by condition classes (exemplified by the forests of Quang Ninh district, North Vietnam)

, : The stratification of tropical forests in forest inventories by condition classes (exemplified by the forests of Quang Ninh district, North Vietnam). Beitrage zur Tropischen Landwirtschaft und Veterinarmedizin 11(3): 237-247

In the survey at Quang Ninh, the major forest types, e.g. evergreen Dipterocarp rain forest, were subdivided into 'condition classes' largely by easily ascertained physiognomic criteria based on density, degree of degradation, and the nature, age, and condition of regeneration (including plantations). Most of the accessible forests were poorly stocked, especially in the larger diameter classes.
