Transportation of cereals for livestock feeding in Great Britain: an economic model

, : Transportation of cereals for livestock feeding in Great Britain: an economic model. Research Monograph, Agricultural Adjustment Unit, University of Newcastle upon Tyne (M5): 117

A detailed account is given of a problem oriented attempt to develop a realistic mathematical model of the spatial aspects of the operation of the most important part of the UK cereals market. It was hoped that a simple programming model of transport and storage of grains for livestock feeding would prove of value in price analysis and would give better information on grain flow, storage practices and opportunity costs and that a model would be developed which could be used elsewhere in EEC.
