Cotton Ambassador, Deltapine 11A, Missdel 1 WR, Stoneville 2B, Stoneville 5A and Washington, which had produced an average lint yield of 565 kg/ha over the 4 years 1935-8, yielded an average of 909 kg/ha (61% increase) when re-evaluated in 1967 and 1968 using improved cultural techniques. Cultivar Deltapine 11A and Missdel 1 WR responded more favourably than the other 4.
