Allergic cryptococcal pneumonia

, : Allergic cryptococcal pneumonia. Lung 154(3): 195-199

The case is presented of a 49-yr-old man with primary pulmonary Cryptococcus neoformans infection with the systemic manifestations of cyclic urticaria, hypotension and dyspnoea. It is suggested that there was an allergic reaction to the fungus to account for the symptoms which disappeared after therapy with amphotericin B.
