Better use of the labour force

, : Better use of the labour force. Sbornik Nauchnykh Trudov VNIESKH (72): 164-171

Labour productivity in Soviet agriculture rose by an average of 5.1% per annum during the past 10 years. The greatest rates of increase were in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and White Russia, the lowest Uzbekhistan and Khirghizia. Labour expenditure per production unit fell considerably, for cereals by as much as a third. There was a clear dependence of labour productivity on the level of capital.
