Biological control in the field of forest hygiene

, : Biological control in the field of forest hygiene. Wissenschaftlicher Zeitschrift der Technischen Universitat Dresden 26(5): 959-963

The role of birds, bats, predatory arthropods and parasitic insects in biological control of forest pests is discussed, together with the possible effects of industrial production methods. The management of the stand and its effect on the ground vegetation as a food source for predators and parasites is more important than the sp. of trees involved.
