Capacitation and acrosome reaction of rabbit spermatozoa: in vitro studies

, : Capacitation and acrosome reaction of rabbit spermatozoa: in vitro studies. Dissertation Abstracts International, B 38(8): 3581

Rabbit spermatozoa capacitated in utero were induced to undergo acrosome reactions in vitro. Rabbit follicular fluid collected 1 h before ovulation was 3 times more effective in inducing the acrosome reaction than fluid collected 24 h after ovulation. Bovine follicular fluid was less effective than homologous fluid. Calcium ions played an important role in the in vitro induction of the acrosome reaction of uterine-capacitated spermatozoa.
