Chemical control of vegetative growth, flowering and yield in young pear trees

, : Chemical control of vegetative growth, flowering and yield in young pear trees. Forskning og Forsoek i Landbruket 27(2): 187-200

Results are presented of 4 trials on pear cvs treated with Alar (daminozide) and CCC (chlormequat) at various rates. The sprays were applied when the terminal growth was about 12-15 cm long (about 14 days after flowering). In 3 of the trials Alar had little or no effect in regulating growth or yield but in the fourth trial it advanced flowering by 3-4 days.
