In tests in which GA3 and IAA were applied to a dwarf inbred of VNIIMK6540 33 or more days after sowing, IAA had no effect on the andrecium but a 0.033% aqueous solution of GA3 applied on the 37th day gave 100% male sterility; the latter treatment also reduced capitulum size and accelerated flowering.
