Comparison of Pangolagrass and water hyacinth silages on diets for sheep

, : Comparison of Pangolagrass and water hyacinth silages on diets for sheep. Journal of Animal Science 40(5): 968-971

Pangola grass (Digitaria decumbens) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) were ensiled and fed to sheep to compare voluntary feed intake and nutrient digestibility. Voluntary intakes of Pangola grass silage and water hyacinth silage were inadequate to meet the DM, CP and digestible protein requirements of wethers averaging 34 kg body weight.
