Contributions of mathematical models to epidemiology

, : Contributions of mathematical models to epidemiology. Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences 287: 191-206

Mathematical models are derived for (1) the growth of a pathogen under epiphytotic conditions, (2) the behaviour of a pathogen under different environmental conditions, and (3) the limited geographical distribution of a pathogen. Each model is considered in terms of the genetic diversity of the host population.
