Diagnosis of parasitic calcifications: (excluding fungal and protozoal calcifications)

, : Diagnosis of parasitic calcifications: (excluding fungal and protozoal calcifications). Journal de Radiologie, d' Electrologie et de Medecine Nucleaire 58(2): 125-133

The calcifications due to helminths which may be seen radiologically in man are reviewed. Descriptions are given to assist the identification of calcifications due to Dracunculus medinensis, Schistosoma haematobium, Echinococcus granulosus, E. multilocularis, Paragonimus, Taenia solium cysticerci and Trichinella. Often the infections are ancient or extinct by the time the calcifications appear.
