Diallel analysis in plant breeding

, : Diallel analysis in plant breeding. Diallel analysis in plant breeding: 181

An examination is made of different mathematical methods which can be used to obtain information on the genetic nature of experimental material, especially on combining ability (general and specific) and its interaction with the environment. Variance and covariance analyses of data from diallel crosses which enable the different components of genetic variation to be separated are considered.

Wild-collected strains of Neurospora crassa harbor recessive mutations that are expressed in the sexual phase when homozygous.
