Dielectric properties of wood irradiated with gamma -rays

, : Dielectric properties of wood irradiated with gamma -rays. Mokuzai Gakkaishi Journal of the Japan Wood Research Society 21(12): 645-653

Measurements were made of the dielectric properties (and the effect of temperature on dielectric loss factor), infra-red spectra and moisture regain of wood irradiated with gamma -rays at dosages from 3 X 106 to >108 rad. The changes in moisture-regain values and dielectric absorption at different dosages of radiation are interpreted in terms of changes in the submicroscopic and chemical structure of the wood.
