, : Diet-induced alterations of hGH secretion in man. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism 42(5): 931-937

Eight men and seven women ate experimental diets for 10 to 12 days. Each experimental diet was preceded by a control diet for 5 days. Experimental diets studied were: 2300 kcal, 80% carbohydrate (8 men); 2300 kcal, 75% high-fat (7 men); 2300 kcal, 70% high-protein (5 men); 3600 kcal, "control", 40% carbohydrate, 40% fat, 20% protein (5 men); and 3600 kcal, 80% high-carbohydrate (5 men). A control diet and a high-carbohydrate diet at 2300 kcal were studied in the women.
