Effects of insulin and glucose on subcellular fractions from rat adipose tissue

, : Effects of insulin and glucose on subcellular fractions from rat adipose tissue. Acta Diabetologica Latina 11(3): 206-212

Adipose tissue from Sprague-Dawley rats was incubated in Krebs-Ringer solution with bicarbonate buffer, 4% bovine serum albumin and glucose 3 mmol/litre without or with insulin 1.2 mU/ml. In some experiments both glucose and insulin were omitted. Labelled precursors were glucose-U-14C, glycine-14C, orthophosphate-32P and orotic acid-14C. The tissue was homogenised and the homogenate was centrifuged to obtain subcellular fractions.
