Effects of the irradiation of larvae of Bombyx mori on the development of the titre of ecdysteroids in the haemolymph and the metabolism of ecdysone

, : Effects of the irradiation of larvae of Bombyx mori on the development of the titre of ecdysteroids in the haemolymph and the metabolism of ecdysone. Comptes Rendus Hebdomadaires des Seances de l' Academie des Sciences, D 284(17): 1689-1692

Second- and third-instar larvae of Bombyx mori (L.) reared in the laboratory in France showed a peak of ecdysteroids in the haemolymph towards the end of each instar. Second-instar larvae exposed to X-rays immediately after the moult died during the third moult and showed disturbances in the titre and metabolism of ecdysone.
