Effects of the juvenile hormone C17 (JH-II) in Locusta migratoria

, : Effects of the juvenile hormone C17 (JH-II) in Locusta migratoria. Journal of Insect Physiology 22(5): 729-733

The effects of C17 juvenile hormone (JH-II) (methyl 9-(3-ethyl-3-methyloxiranyl)-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-nonadienoate) on morphogenesis, ovarial development and pigmentation of Locusta migratoria (L.) were investigated by means of injections in oil. These effects were compared with those of injecting C18 juvenile hormone (JH-1) (methyl 7-ethyl-9-(3-ethyl-3-methyloxiranyl)-3-methyl-2,6-nonodienoate) and of implanting corpora allata into Locusta.
