Fatty acid composition and distribution of 14C-glucose activity in lipid classes of porcine subcutaneous fat

, : Fatty acid composition and distribution of 14C-glucose activity in lipid classes of porcine subcutaneous fat. Canadian Journal of Animal Science 54(4): 645-650

Samples of subcutaneous fat were obtained previously (NAR 42, 9926; 44, 2018) from pigs given a basal diet with 90.1% barley and 7.5% herring meal alone or with 250 mg Cu/kg. Pigs of 60 to 70 kg liveweight given extra Cu had an increased proportion of unsaturated fatty acids in both the free fatty acid (FFA) and glyceride (G) fractions.
