Lettuce Suzan grown under plastic was a lighter colour, of better appearance and tasted better than lettuce grown in the open. Similar results were obtained with Unus Treib radish. However, the quality of raw or cooked kohlrabi, Lanro, was better when plants were grown in the open than when they were grown under plastic.
