Further experiments on the control of quackgrass in ornamentals

, : Further experiments on the control of quackgrass in ornamentals. Proceedings of the Northeastern Weed Science Society, New York City: 349-350

In 1974, propyzamide at 3 lb/acre in November gave >90% control of quackgrass (Agropyron repens) without injury to Taxus cuspidata (Japanese yew), Juniperus horizontalis var. plumosa compacta (Andorra juniper), Pinus strobus (eastern white pine), and Euonymus radicans (wintercreeper). Glyphosate at 0.75-1.5 lb/acre, applied in autumn or spring, practically eliminated A. repens but April application reduced the vigour and early growth of Japanese yew and wintercreeper.
