Germination of Thermopsis lanceolata seeds

, : Germination of Thermopsis lanceolata seeds. Byulleten' Glavnogo Botanicheskogo Sada (104): 45-49

Cultivated T. lanceolata had larger pods with more and larger seeds than wild plants. Scarified seeds of cultivated plants germinated better (as regards vigour and germination percentage) in darkness at both fluctuating (8 h at 30 deg C and 16 h at 18-20 deg ) and room (18-20 deg ) temperatures. In light, however, vigour was greater at fluctuating temperatures in seeds of wild plants.
