Gibberellins in the embryonic axes of tall and dwarf beans and their changes with initial growth

, : Gibberellins in the embryonic axes of tall and dwarf beans and their changes with initial growth. Plant and Cell Physiology 16(5): 759-766

Ten gibberellin-like activities were detected in the dry embryonic axes of tall (cv. Kentucky Wonder) and dwarf (cv. Masterpiece) beans using the lettuce hypocotyl assay of thin-layer chromatograms. There was no qualitative difference in these gibberellins between the tall and dwarf axes, but all were contained much more abundantly in the tall axes. In tall and dwarf axes the gibberellin activities of most fractions decreased during germination.
