This issue of the Annual Report is expanded to give a recapitulation of the principal changes over the period from 1970 to 1975, and to present results in the form of time series. Average expenditure on food for consumption in the home by private households in Great Britain doubled between the first quarter of 1970 and the fourth quarter of 1975 when it amounted to pounds-sterling 4.01 per person per week.
