Instructions for the identification of the species of Asterodiaspis Signoret, 1876 (Homoptera, Coccoidea, Asterolecaniidae) damaging oak in Poland

, : Instructions for the identification of the species of Asterodiaspis Signoret, 1876 (Homoptera, Coccoidea, Asterolecaniidae) damaging oak in Poland. Polskie Pismo Entomologiczne 46(2): 401-409

Two species of Asterodiaspis infest oak in Poland, A. quercicola (Bch.) and A. variolosa (Ratz.). They were earlier distinguished from each other by the author, and he here gives descriptions enabling the first-instar nymphs to be recognised in the field on the trunks and branches of the trees. These nymphs are present throughout the year but are commonest in late June and July, though hatching sometimes takes place earlier in the laboratory.
