Interaction between milk production, physiological and ethological characteristics of cows and housing technology

, : Interaction between milk production, physiological and ethological characteristics of cows and housing technology. Sbornik Nauchnykh Trudov Estonskoi Sel' skokhozyaistvennoi Akademii 80: 3-10

An experiment with 2 groups of 8 cows was conducted to investigate the effect of a tie-up housing system with forced movement on animal physiology and behaviour, milk yield and health. Under the forced-movement system, cows were tied by means of a 4-branch attachment to a looped conveyor belt moving at 0.45 m/s and leading the cows to an M632 milking system.
