The results of trials carried out at the All-Union Cotton Research Institute (Soyuz NIKhI) and its stations in the Uzbek SSR on irrigation of cotton in relation to different sowing patterns, inter-row spacing, stand density, dates and rates of irrigation before and after sowing, and changes in water requirements in relation to improvement in agrotechniques and application of high rates of fertilizers are described.
