Isolation of type A influenza and Newcastle disease viruses from migratory waterfowl in the Mississippi flyway

, : Isolation of type A influenza and Newcastle disease viruses from migratory waterfowl in the Mississippi flyway. Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association 171(9): 949-951

Twenty-seven chicken erythrocyte-agglutinating agents were isolated from 184 tracheal swabbings of apparently healthy migratory mallard ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) in Mississippi. Twenty-four of the isolates were type A influenzavirus; 3 lentogenic Newcastle disease viruses were isolated.
