Metabolism of the herbicide methazole in lactating cows and laying hens

, : Metabolism of the herbicide methazole in lactating cows and laying hens. Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry 24(5): 1007-1012

ethazole(2-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazolidine-3,5-dione) was administered daily to cows via gelatin capsule at dosage equivalent to 0.5, 2.5 and 10 ppm in the diet for 14 days. The radiocarbon was very efficiently eliminated from the cow predominantly via the urine; at the 0.5 and 2.5 ppm levels, a near equilibration between intake and excretion was accomplished after only 3 days, and at the 10 ppm level after 10 days.
