Pelt clasification and live weight of Icelandic lambs. 1. Heritability of pelt class of lambs

, : Pelt clasification and live weight of Icelandic lambs. 1. Heritability of pelt class of lambs. Journal of Agricultural Research, Iceland( 1973); 3(2): 34-39

Pelt class was studied in 13 489 lambs at weaning on 4 state farms in Iceland during 1965-1971. The pelt classes are: A and B, both without tan fibres, with class value 10; C, with tan fibres on extremities, and class value 5; D with tan fibres on body, and class value 0. The h2 of pelt class was 0.49 plus or minus 0.03 by intraclass correlation and 0.54 plus or minus 0.05 by regression of offspring on dam.
