When gamma -BHC (lindane) was applied to soil in tests in Czechoslovakia in 4 different formulations (as granules, a dust, a wettable-powder applied as a dust and a suspension), residues in the soil were highest following application of the granules, with a dust of local manufacture (Lidenal) intended for direct application to the soil coming next. Residues were highest in the top 5 cm of soil.
