Muellerius infection after high doses of infective larvae. III. Experimental Muellerius infection of goats. IV. Comparison of the pulmonary lesions. Helminthologia 1974 1977; 14/15(1/4): 183-231

Six sheep and three goats were infected with Muellerius capillaris by means of the intermediate host, the snail Cepea vindobonensis. In three sheep infected with 1400-1500 larvae, nodules formed in the lungs, the number occurring in the surface and deeper layers of the parenchyma indicating that a high percentage of invading larvae had reached the lungs of the host. The nodules were grey or brownish red, 1-3 mm in size and were grouped at the apical ends of the diaphragm lobes.
