Raw material prices in the 1980s. Vol.I text; Vol.II Appendices

, : Raw material prices in the 1980s. Vol.I text; Vol.II Appendices. EIU Special Report, The Economist Intelligence Unit (48): 126; 39

The report points out the difficulty of long-term forecasts of commodity prices because demand for many raw materials is very sensitive to change in general economic activity, although in the short term it may be price inelastic, but supply particularly of agricultural commodities can fluctuate widely for natural and political reasons. In addition supplies are considerably influenced by expectation of future prices.
