Recovery in Polish livestock production

, : Recovery in Polish livestock production. Agra Europe (744): N/1-N/4

Although the June 1977 livestock census in Poland shows cattle numbers 8% up on January and pig numbers 20% up, deliveries to slaughterhouses are expected to decline by 4% in 1977 compared to 1976. In the dairy sector milk production recovered slightly but was still lower than two years earlier. The expansion in livestock numbers is believed to be a response to various special measures to combat the decline and to an improvement in the supply of feeding stuffs.
