Recovery of bovine rhinotracheitis virus from experimentally infected calves and the clinical and morphological characteristics of the infection

, : Recovery of bovine rhinotracheitis virus from experimentally infected calves and the clinical and morphological characteristics of the infection. Veterinariya, Moscow, USSR (3): 54-55

Sixteen calves were infected by aerosol with the virus, four by i/v inj., and two were sham-inoculated intranasally, with sterile culture fluid. At intervals for 25 days, nasal secretions and blood samples were taken for attempts to re-isolate the virus. Also organs were taken from calves killed at intervals from 36 h to 25 days post-infection (p.i). The first clinical symptoms appeared in 1-2 days.
