, : Refeeding-malaria and hyperferraemia. Lancet 1(7908): 653-654

During the Central African (Sahelian) drought, attacks of Plasmodium falciparum were common in patients and their relatives shortly after their arrival in a hospital in the Diffa department in Eastern Niger. 23 attacks occurred in 72 adult patients not admitted for malaria and in 51 of the 109 accompanying relatives. There was a peak frequency 5 days after arrival.
