In experiments conducted in the Gorno-Altai region, USSR, in which 6 areas, each of 0.25 ha, were treated by manually-operated sprayers with fenitrothion (as methylnitrophos and Metathion) at concentrations of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%, complete control of ixodid ticks was obtained in 5-12 days, and the areas remained tick-free for the period of observation.
