Results of herbicide trials in vineyards in Odessa Province

, : Results of herbicide trials in vineyards in Odessa Province. Trudy Vsesoyuznogo Nauchno Issledovatel' skogo Instituta Zashchity Rastenii (46): 106-119

In trials in 1963-69 on chernozem soils, soil-acting herbicides gave 90-99% control of weeds; simazine at 7.5 kg lasted 3-4 years and atrazine 6 kg/ha lasted 2-3 years. Simazine, atrazine, monuron and diuron were ineffective against perennial grasses under the dry conditions in Odessa Province; spraying the foliage with a 3% dalapon solution gave 100% topkill of Agropyron repens and Cynodon dactylon and 95% kill of rhizomes.
