Staikov, V.; Kalaidzhiev, I., 1972: Results of interspecific hybridization of the essential oil rose. IV Mezhdunar kongr po efir maslam, Tbilisi, 2: 168-173
Seed set ranged from 6.3 to 97.6 in various interspecific crosses and the germination rate of the seed from 1.2 to 19.8%; no seeds set in the cross Rosa damascena X R. rugosa. The cross of R. damascena with a species designated R. Sp. 29 (Pinin) gave fruit but inviable seed. Hybrids with scented flowers predominated in crosses with R. gallica as the maternal form. Better development of the bushes was found in combinations with Krasnaya Krymskaya as the maternal form.
