Results of investigations on the effectiveness of organophosphorus insecticides against carrot fly (Psila rosae Fabr.)

, : Results of investigations on the effectiveness of organophosphorus insecticides against carrot fly (Psila rosae Fabr.). Biuletyn Instytutu Ochrony Roslin 54: 447-451

Three formulations of bromophos and three of pirimiphos-ethyl were tested in the field in Poland against Psila rosae (F.) on carrots. When bromophos was applied to the soil in 3% granules at 10-15 kg/ha before sowing, the percentage of roots damaged was 5.4 times less than for no treatment. The same degree of protection was obtained with two waterings (after sowing and in August) with 0.1% bromophos at 500 ml/metre of row.
