In 23 patients, mainly men, treated for on average 25 months by mouth, so that the average total dose of F was 21.1 g, or 31.1 mg daily, without additional treatment, success was assessed from presence of side-effects, height, Ca, P and alkaline phosphatase in blood serum, Ca and P in 24-h urine, radiological changes in the spine, mineral content of the radius and histomorphometrical appraisal of the iliac crest, mainly of the spongiosa.
