Results of many years' study of varietal resistance in wheat to species of rust in the Kuban'

, : Results of many years' study of varietal resistance in wheat to species of rust in the Kuban'. Nauch tr Krasnodar NII s kh (7): 26-38

An evaluation was made of breeding material under conditions of artificial infection in the field for resistance to a population of races consisting of a great range of biotypes. In some cases varieties with poor field resistance were found to reinforce resistance in the varieties bred from them, as in Bezostaya 1 Varieties with vertical resistance always gave a greater number of resistant forms when they segregated in the F2.
