In 1972 the first workers were seen on 20 April; males and queens appeared in early June. Most (70%) queens left the nest fairly quickly, but some returned. Queens usually left the nest before choosing a hibernation site.Flying activity, and unloading of pollen, were highest in the late morning.P.
