Results of morphological, biological and ecological research on Neotetranychus rubi (Trag.) (Acarina, Tetranychidae)

, : Results of morphological, biological and ecological research on Neotetranychus rubi (Trag.) (Acarina, Tetranychidae). Prace Naukowe Instytutu Ochrony Roslin 17(1): 153-167

The adult male and female are described of Neotetranychus rubi Tragardh, a pest of raspberry leaves, which is common on wild raspberry in Poland. Investigations there showed that it overwintered as a mated female under the bark at the base of raspberry canes or in the litter but mortality reached 34% during the winter. The females reappeared at the end of April or beginning of May. In the laboratory, development from egg to adult lasted 11.2-21 days according to the temperature.
